The purpose of the Property Improvement Awards is to recognize CVBA members for outstanding real estate improvement completed in 2025. Please note, if any project is more than 50% publicly funded, it is ineligible. Award categories may include (depending on submissions):
- Construction or Rehabilitation up to $150,000
- Construction or Rehabilitation $150,000 - $500,000
- Construction or Rehabilitation $500,000 - $1M
- Construction or Rehabilitation $1M - $5M
- Construction or Rehabilitation $5M - $10M
- Construction or Rehabilitation over $10M
- Historic Preservation
Projects entered within a specific category may be re-categorized by the committee based on the project’s cost for the purposes of judging.
Eligibility: Candidate must be a member of the Cumberland Valley Business Alliance in good standing. If a project is more than 50% publicly funded, it is not eligible for submission.
Judging Criteria:
Each entry must include an overview of the project including total cost of the project (include all materials, labor, subcontractor and other related costs), project start and end date, contributors to the project (architects, suppliers, sub-contractors, etc), the reason for the project and photos of before/after. You may also wish to address one or more of the following:
- Design and use of space
- Degree of difficulty
- Workmanship and quality of construction
- Appropriateness to surrounding/existing structure(s)
- Effect on neighborhood/community
- Overall economic impact on community
