Nominations are now open through Oct. 9 for the Young Professionals Awards Ceremony, sponsored by WellSpan Health, that will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 4. There are seven categories that are available, including two new additions this year: People’s Choice Awards and Mentor of the Year.

The CVBA takes pride in celebrating the people who are taking part in shaping the future of the business community we live in. “Our region is full of talented, passionate individuals who are investing in their careers, supporting local organizations, and finding ways to make out communities strong,” said the Execute Director of the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce, Kylie Thomas, “I think it’s important that we create opportunities for young professionals to feel connected, supported, and inspired to continue growing right here in the Cumberland Valley.”

Award categories include:

  1. Athena Young Professional – an emerging leader who shows excellence and creativity within their field and serves as a role model for young women personally and professionally.
  2. People’s Choice – honors a local young professional that excels in their career, relationships, and overall influence among their peers.
  3. Rising Star – an individual who has been in their career for five years or less and shows tremendous potential in their field.
  4. Entrepreneur of the Year – an entrepreneur or small business owner who has grown and developed a sustainable business.
  5. Mentor of the Year – plays a vital role in the development of the next generation and is intentional about guiding others to a path of success.
  6. Nonprofit Young Professional of the Year – a nonprofit employee who demonstrates excellence in their work and dedication to their organization and its mission.
  7. Volunteer of the Year – someone who has dedicated significant time and resources to serving the community outside of their career.

Take advantage of being able to shine a spotlight on a young professional you know who is 40 years of age or under. “Sometimes, all it takes is someone else recognizing your potential to help you recognize it in yourself,” said Thomas.
