59th Annual Greencastle Sidewalk Days Returns July 10th–11th

The 59th Annual Greencastle Sidewalk Days returns to downtown Greencastle on Friday and Saturday, July 10–11, bringing two days of shopping, food, entertainment, and family fun to one of the community’s longest-standing traditions.
Presented by elm Shoes + Active and hosted by the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce, this year’s event will feature more than 100 crafters, merchants, community organizations, and food vendors throughout downtown. Event hours are Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
To create a safe and enjoyable experience for attendees, Baltimore Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from Route 11 east of Center Square to Washington Street, along with South Carlisle Street to Franklin Street, beginning one hour before the event each day and remaining closed until one hour after.

“Closing the streets allows visitors to experience downtown in a completely different way,” said Kylie Belle Thomas, Executive Director of the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce. “While public safety is our primary reason for the closure, it also creates a walkable, welcoming atmosphere where families can explore, shop, dine, and spend more time supporting our local businesses.”
Originally known as “Sidewalk Sales Days,” the event began decades ago when downtown merchants displayed merchandise outside their storefronts. Today, it has grown into one of Greencastle’s signature annual events, featuring local artisans, specialty vendors, food trucks, live entertainment, children’s activities, and community organizations.
This year’s entertainment includes Shane the Balloon Guy, who will provide free balloon creations in the Kidz Zone near Greencastle Presbyterian Church on Friday from 6–8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. Musicians from the Franklin County Visitors Bureau’s A Cappella & Unplugged Contest will perform throughout both days, while Paul Minnich takes the stage on Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. Visitors are also encouraged to stop by the Town Plaza Lot to see and photograph the Franklin County America250PA Liberty Bell.
A special highlight of this year’s event will take place Friday at 6 p.m. in Center Square, when Mayor Ben Thomas, Jr. presents a proclamation recognizing the historic achievement of the Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils Varsity Baseball Team following its PIAA State Championship season.
“Our community is still celebrating this incredible accomplishment,” Thomas said. “We’re excited to recognize these student-athletes during one of Greencastle’s biggest community events and give everyone an opportunity to celebrate their success together.”
The Chamber also recognizes the many sponsors whose support makes Sidewalk Days possible:

“It’s an honor to help continue one of Greencastle’s longest-running traditions,” Thomas said. “Sidewalk Days brings thousands of people into the heart of our downtown while giving local businesses, restaurants, nonprofits, and vendors an opportunity to connect with the community. Supporting local business has always been the foundation of this event and the core of what we do, and we’re proud to continue that tradition for the 59th year.”
