On April 20, 2026, twenty-six high school sophomores gathered at Wilson College to celebrate the completion of their yearlong leadership journey as the Leadership Franklin County Youth (LFCY) Class of 2026.

Throughout the program, students worked collaboratively in school-based teams to design and implement BeKind projects through the Healthy Communities Partnership of Greater Franklin County. Their efforts focused on spreading kindness and making meaningful connections across the community. From encouraging positivity in elementary schools, to engaging with residents at retirement communities, to supporting local animal shelters, each project reflected a commitment to service and compassion.

The graduation ceremony highlighted not only the students’ accomplishments, but also their personal growth as emerging leaders. Over the past year, participants developed skills in teamwork, communication, and civic engagement while gaining a deeper understanding of the needs within Franklin County.

The impact of their work was felt across the region, demonstrating that leadership can take many forms and that even small acts of kindness can create lasting change.

Congratulations to the Leadership Franklin County Youth Class of 2026 for leading with purpose and compassion. Appreciation is also extended to the LFCY Steering Committee for their guidance and dedication throughout the program.
