Celebrating 5 Years of the CVBA at Summer Mixer
The Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce and Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce partnered five years ago in 2021 to form the Cumberland Valley Business Alliance (CVBA) to help preserve the life of businesses within the Cumberland Valley region.
Since then, the CVBA has remained the largest business advocacy organization in the area and has continued to help businesses grow. “We have had overwhelming positive feedback from our membership as engagement and participation in the CVBA events and activities has grown substantially,” said President of the Chambersburg Chamber, Stephen Christian.
The CVBA has hosted over 190 ribbon cuttings, 73 networking mixers, etc. Over 800 businesses are affiliated with the CVBA, and the memberships continue to grow.
“Over the past five years, the CVBA has created opportunities and benefits that may not have existed for many businesses otherwise,” said the Executive Director of the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber, Kylie Thomas, “Regional networking, unique educational programming, more avenues to increase visibility, and broader access to resources would be a few examples.”
Celebrated with You
To celebrate a half a decade of accomplishments, the CVBA recognized the continuous hard work and dedication at yesterday’s Summer Mixer at the Goldish Barn.
This milestone has served as a reflection for Thomas. “It’s an opportunity to analyze what’s working, acknowledge where we’ve fallen short, and be willing to have candid conversations about how we can improve,” said Thomas. “That kind of rumination is healthy for any organization that wants to stay relevant and effective.”
The CVBA extends its appreciation to RKL LLP, the Grand Sponsor of this year’s Summer Mixer, for its continued support of the local business community. Shippensburg University, serving as the Commemorative Gift Sponsor, helped make the celebration possible alongside 21 other CVBA members that showcased their businesses throughout the event.
Attendees were able to enter their name to win a raffle prize provided by each sponsor. C M Pig Out Catering provided pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwiches, and a selection of ice cream flavors from Mikie’s Ice Cream and Green Cow Gift Shop.
The CVBA thanks its members, sponsors, and community partners for being part of this incredible five-year journey. Here’s to continued growth, stronger connections, and many more years of making an impact together.
