There is a specific energy that comes with a new chapter. At Downtown Chambersburg Inc., that energy arrived on March 2 with our new Executive Director, Angie Allaire.

If you’ve spent any time in Franklin County, you might already know Angie. She is a small local business owner with her husband Tim Young and a dedicated Cumberland Valley Business Alliance member. Beyond the resume, Angie brings a philosophy to DCI that is perfectly aligned with the spirit of our town: “I love communities that are rich in history, especially those where there is genuine collaboration between business owners and community members.”

From social services to strategic operations, Allaire’s career path is as diverse as the community she now serves. She began her journey in the nonprofit sector, helping individuals in the mental health system find growth and hope. With a master’s degree in counseling and a doctorate in organizational leadership in progress, she eventually transitioned into corporate America, where she focused on workforce efficiencies and people-centric leadership.

What makes Allaire particularly special for Chambersburg is her view on progress. She sees our town as a neighborhood where we are all responsible for each other. “Legacy and innovation are not at odds,” Allaire says. “They work together. My goal is to respect our history while driving the innovative growth we need for the future.”

When she is not at the DCI office, Allaire is likely enjoying the outdoors, hiking, paddleboarding, or attending local live music events. She also plans to adopt a dog from the local shelter soon, so keep an eye out for a new furry friend around town.

Angie is more than a leader; she is a listener. She is eager to hear the stories that define your experience here. Please join us in welcoming her as we write the next chapter of our downtown story together.
