Chambersburg residents enthusiastically participated in the “Deck the Town” holiday light display contest, hosted by the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce, and raised $1,922 to benefit the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter (CVAS).

Chamber President Steve Christian presented the check to Tiffanie Smoyer, Executive Director of CVAS, on January 15. The fundraiser showcased the community’s generosity and creativity, with 17 properties in the Chambersburg area participating in the festive competition.

Interest in the contest extended well beyond those who participated directly. The online map of holiday light displays was viewed nearly 6,000 times, highlighting the excitement surrounding the event and its appeal as a seasonal activity for families and visitors throughout Chambersburg.

The contest featured a variety of dazzling light displays, from whimsical wonderlands to classic Christmas themes. The participating properties included:

The proceeds will help CVAS provide essential services for animals, including shelter, medical care and adoption opportunities. The Chamber extends its gratitude to the participants and everyone who voted or donated.
