Area professionals interested in strengthening their leadership skills and expanding their understanding of the community are encouraged to apply for the competitive Leadership Franklin County (LFC) Community Program, hosted by the Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation and sponsored by F&M Trust.

This nine-month leadership development course is designed to provide professionals with training in leadership development, community needs, and service project opportunities. Participants engage with business and community leaders while gaining firsthand insight into the issues and assets that shape Franklin County.

The LFC Community class meets monthly at various locations throughout Franklin County for in-person sessions. In addition, participants complete group project work outside of monthly sessions in partnership with select nonprofit organizations.

To learn more about the program, two virtual information sessions are scheduled for:

•             Friday, February 20 at 11:00 a.m.

•             Tuesday, March 24 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon)

Registration links for both sessions are available on the Cumberland Valley Business Alliance (CVBA) Events website: CVBAlliance.org/Events.

“Leadership Franklin County brings area professionals of all ages, backgrounds, and interests together to explore the many aspects of our community that directly contribute to the betterment of our region,” said Virginia Harriger, executive director of the Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation. “Since 1985, LFC has empowered professionals to become more engaged and informed community leaders while highlighting the impactful work being done across Franklin County.”

The cost to participate in the program is $1,600 per student, with a limited number of scholarships available through the Leadership Franklin County Alumni Scholarship Fund. The Class of 2027 program will begin in September 2026 with a two-day team-building retreat, followed by monthly sessions held during the workday from October through May.

Applications are due by May 8, 2026, and will be followed by an interview process. To apply or learn more, visit Chambersburg.org/Leadership or contact Virginia Harriger at gharriger@chambersburg.org.
