Member Spotlight: Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance

For nearly three decades, the Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance (CVBCA) has been a beacon of hope and support for the communities of Franklin, Fulton, and Cumberland County. With a mission rooted in love and compassion, CVBCA dedicates itself to providing breast health education and cancer support to those in need.
Educating the Community
At the heart of CVBCA’s mission is education. Understanding breast health is crucial, and CVBCA takes proactive steps to educate the community about breast cancer risk factors and the importance of early detection. Through informative sessions, individuals learn how to conduct proper breast self-exams, empowering them to take charge of their health.
Mammagift Program: Bridging the Gap
Recognizing the financial hurdles that can impede access to essential health services, CVBCA offers the Mammagift Program. This initiative provides breast cancer screening to both men and women who are uninsured or underinsured, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity for early detection and intervention.
Comprehensive Support for Patients
The journey through breast cancer is challenging, but CVBCA is committed to walking alongside patients every step of the way. Patients receive multiple care packs filled with essentials and resources to provide comfort and support.
Access to Essential Resources
Navigating cancer treatment requires more than medical care. CVBCA provides access to crucial resources, such as wigs and prosthetics, to help patients maintain their dignity and confidence. In addition, complementary treatments like lymphatic massage and reflexology are available to enhance prescribed therapies and improve overall well-being.
Financial Aid and Stability
Understanding the financial strain that can accompany cancer treatment, CVBCA offers financial aid to assist with transportation, food, shelter, and utilities. This support helps alleviate the burden on patients and their families, allowing them to focus on healing and recovery.
